This project aims to assist Moreton Bay fishing businesses develop and implement best fishing practices as a way to improve their business efficiency and contribute to environmental sustainability.

Project Objectives

  1. Achieve measurable adoption of sustainable production practices by individual fishing businesses of Moreton Bay
  2. Improve awareness about the benefits of improving natural resource management
  3. Encourage sharing of innovative ideas and techniques between fishermen
  4. Share project outcomes with other groups so that, in the long-term, wider environmental targets can be measured for improvement (such as water quality and energy efficiency)
  5. Encourage other fisheries and other primary industries to develop and implement EMS and other eco-efficiency tools.
